Better Workout Fitness Program

November 1st, 2009

I’m so glad to see you’re sticking with these tips:

1.Stop and Go

If you play a sport that requires a full sprint, remember that a full sprint strains the muscles of the lower body. To combat this,do stop-and-go exercises.

For example, run 30 meters at about 80 percent of your effort, slow to a jog for five to 10 meters, then run again for another30 meters.

Repeat this process five times.

2.On bended knees
Almost 3 out of four ACL injury occurs when players are landing or turning. If your knees are bent instead of straight, the risk of injury is greatly reduced according to a report in the JAAOS(Journal of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons).

3.Cool down
Heatstroke is not something that can be easily cured like headache.
To avoid it, stay cool and hydrated.
Be sure the combined temp an humidity is less than 160. This is according to Dr. Dave Janda of the IPSM.

4.Get the proper equipment
Badly fitting gears or ill sized equipment can be a cause of training injuries. The extra money spent on proper equipment goes along way.

5.Do it the right way
Bad technique is just as bad as, well, bad equipment. Seek advice from pros and trainer, this advice are invaluable to your exercises or training.

6.Go West (or whichever direction)
If you’re playing or training in multiple directions, your warm up should also. Move sideways, backward, forward and all the motions you might be doing.
This allows your body to be prepared.

7.Have yourself filmed
The camera doesn’t lie. Show your video to a person well verse in your training, so he can give a critic of your fitness regimen.

8.Loosen the shoulders.
Even a slightly injured rotator cuff can shut down the function of a shoulder. You might want to include stretching to protect your rotator cuffs.

9.Take An early dip
Schedule your swimming sessions early. The less people in the pool means less of everything in the pool.

10. Protect yourself
Wearing custom-fitted mouth guards reduces the risk of injuries by as much as 82 percent, according to a study at UNC at Chapel Hill.
Plunk out the cash for a custom-fitted mouth guard and it’ll last for years including your smile and teeth.

11. Smooth out your tendon
Inquire about ultrasound needle therapy. These procedure is minimally by using ultrasound to guide a needle.

The needle smoothness the bone, breaks up calcification’s, and fixes scar tissue.
Thirteen out of twenty patients saw improvement, and the session takes only about 15 minutes of your time.

12. Buy your running shoes after work.
Shop in the evening, the feet are swollen after a day of work. It approximates how your feet will be after three miles of running.

13. Do off road running.
If the surface is unstable, it trains the ankles to be stable.

14. Know where you’re going.
Whether its biking, or skiing, be sure to have a dry run down any path first. A lot of injuries can be avoided when you’re familiar with the route taken.

15. Train hard.
Anxiety reduces your peripheral vision by three degrees and slows the reaction time by almost 120 milliseconds, according to an article of the Journal of Sports Sciences.

When the going gets difficult, the veteran athlete rely on skills they’ve trained for and practiced.
It keeps them cooler under pressure, widening their vision so they can see react much faster.

More Than One Way to Skin a Cat: Adventures in Creative Thinking

September 18th, 2009

“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.”- Michelangelo …

More than One Way to Skin a Cat: Adventures in Creative Thinking

I hope you are enjoying these tips to help you improve your life.

How many times have you caught yourself saying that there could be no other solution to a problem – and that that problem leads to an dead end?

How many times have you felt stumped knowing that the problem laying before you is one you cannot solve. No leads. No options. No solutions.

Did it feel like you had exhausted all possible options and yet are still before the mountain – large, unconquerable, and impregnable?

When encountering such enormous problems, you may feel like you’re hammering against a steel mountain. The pressure of having to solve such a problem may be overwhelming. To relieve my pressure, I have sought http://www.yourfreedom123.com/ to provide the extra stamina.

But rejoice! There might be some hope yet!

With some creative problem-solving techniques you may be able to look at your problem in a different light.

And that light might just be the end of the tunnel that leads to possible solutions.
First of all, in the light of creative problem-solving, you must be open-minded to the fact that there may be more than just one solution to the problem.

And, you must be open to the fact that there may be solutions to problems you thought were unsolvable.

Now, with this optimistic mindset, we can try to be a little bitmore creative in solving our problems.

Number one; maybe the reason we cannot solve our problems is that we have not really taken a hard look at what the problem is.

Here, trying to understanding the problem and having a concrete understanding of its workings is integral solving the problem. If you know how it works, what the problem is, then you have a better foundation towards solving the problem.

Not trying to make the simple statement of what problem is. Try to identify the participating entities and what their relationships with one another are.

Take note of the things you stand to gain any stand to lose from the current problem. Now you have a simple statement of what the problem is.

Number two; try to take note of all of the constraints and assumptions you have the words of problem.

Sometimes it is these assumptions that obstruct our view of possible solutions. You have to identify which assumptions are valid, in which assumptions need to be addressed.
Number three; try to solve the problem by parts. Solve it going from general view towards the more detailed parts of the problem.

This is called the top-down approach.

Write down the question, and then come up with a one-sentence solution to that from them.

The solution should be a general statement of what will solve the problem.

From here you can develop the solution further, and increase its complexity little by little.
Number four; although it helps to have critical thinking aboard as you solve a problem, you must also keep a creative, analytical voice at the back of your head.

When someone comes up with a prospective solution, tried to think how you could make that solution work. Try to be creative.

At the same time, look for chinks in the armor of that solution.

Number five; it pays to remember that there may be more than just one solution being developed at one time.

Try to keep track of all the solutions and their developments.

Remember, there may be more than just one solution to the problem.

Number six; remember that old adage,” two heads are better than one.” That one is truer than it sounds.

Always be open to new ideas. You can only benefit from listening to all the ideas each person has. This is especially true when the person you’re talking to has had experience solving problems similar to yours.

You don’t have to be a gung-ho, solo hero to solve the problem. If you can organize collective thought on the subject, it would be much better.

Number seven; be patient.

As long as you persevere, there is always a chance that a solution will present itself.
Remember that no one was able to create an invention the first time around.

Creative thinking exercises can also help you in your quest be a more creative problems solver.
Here is one example.

Take a piece of paper and write any word that comes to mind at the center. Now look at that word then write the first two words that come to your mind. This can go on until you can build a tree of related words.

This helps you build analogical skills, and fortify your creative processes.

So, next time you see a problem you think you can not solve, think again. The solution might just be staring you right in the face.

The Essential Keys To Advancement and Motivation

August 24th, 2009

What are the keys to advancement through self improvement and motivation?

1. INSPIRATION.
Inspiration is so necessary for staying motivated and advancing towards your goals in life. If you are not interested in your business, your motivation level will never be high and you will not be able to succeed because you won’t sustain interest for very long.

Take a good honest look at how inspired your really are. For instance – ask yourself, are you excited about your work or is it just an obligation? You would be amazed by how many people choose a business that looks good on paper, but in reality does not interest them very much at all. If you’re looking at a new business – make sure you choose one that you really like. If you love to travel – consider the travel industry. If health is your thing then you may want to look at promoting health products. It sounds simple – but believe me – lots of people fail because they are involved in something they don’t really even like.

These individuals will grow weary and uninterested rather quickly. It’s so essential to have inspiration or passion to sustain you during the difficult times that everyone encounters as a small business owner. There’s just no escaping unforseen challenges. It’s part of life and part of business and you have to have the substance of inspiration to keep moving forward.
If you do not like your work, then think about how you can re-focus your business to better match your lifestyle and needs. Or, consider making a change. Without inspiration, there will not be motivation to make progress.

2. GOAL SETTING.
Having both short and long-term goals is vital for any business owner. If you do not set goals, you would have no definite purpose on which path of advamcement and improvement to take.
How could you possibly be motivated if you were not even sure about the direction of your company? You have to know where you want to go – in order to get there!

You’ve heard this a lot and it’s true: Take the time to put your goals in writing. A business plan is a valuable assett. It’s really nothing more than goals, strategies, implementation and a budget. Write your own business plan and update it at least each year.

Include short term smaller-goals that can be accomplished in a matter of hours, days or weeks as well as the more ambitious larger-goals that may take years to complete. Be sure to refer to this plan throughout the year. Yes, having a business plan – really can help motivate you

3. NETWORKING.
Another key factor in getting and staying motivated in business is networking with other small business owners. No one person knows it all. It’s when a number of people begin working together, that the challenges become are just waiting to be conquered.

In fact, the isolation of working alone is of one the most difficult parts of being an entrepreneur. You can never be on your way to self improvement without the help of others. Having some support is so important in staying motivated. You can make it easier on yourself by connecting with others either in your community or online. Even when businesses are not related, you will often find you have things in common and also find ways of working together that are mutually beneficial.

Finding the right networking group can be a turning point in the growth of the business. A networking group can help its members generate more qualified sales leads and solve problems faster and more efficiently. Sharing ideas, expertise and experience is an invaluable aspect of motivation and self improvement. Being a part of a group can help re-energize you when the burdens of running your own business seem heavy.

With your networking team to rely on, you can accomplish more and probably have more fun in the process. You will feel motivated when you know you are not alone.

Remember:  You CAN do this!

Self Improvement And Success

August 21st, 2009

Throughout our lives we are all constantly growing and developing because Circumstances make us grow, even if we do not make the conscious decision to do so. We learn a lot, of course through formal education, but we continue to learn through our experiences for the rest of our lives. We have to learn and grow to deal with everything that life throws at us. Whether we choose to or not,

We all to go through the process of self improvement.

Our lives move at a dramatically faster pace than at anytime in history. There are more opportunities to do many more things with your life than ever before.

But there is also more competition, and among other things, ever changing technology has created a time where there really are few, if any ‘jobs for life’ situations anymore. Now, people not only change jobs quite often throughout our working lives, but even change to completely different careers in different industries. More and more people now look to work from home in some capacity because of the freedom and financial benefits.

Because the world is so complex and the workplace is so competitive, people who are hungry for success know that they need to learn new skills and knowledge to keep ahead of the pack. To attain this, self improvement is a necessary part of life.

A commitment to self improvement and personal growth may well be the deciding factor in how any-one’s future will turn out.A lot of people say they would like to improve their lives – but how do you know if someone is willing to do what it takes to achieve more? This is a question with no definite answer. It just depends on each individual. But actions do speak louder than words. If someone makes no real changes that they actually stick to – then there will likely be no improvement in their life. So, this will reveal itself and rather quickly.

Many people have goals, dreams or specific things they want to achieve, but do not know how to go about making them happen. They may have thought about it, but have no idea how to even begin to make the plans and take the actions required to make them a reality.

Some people have a vague idea on how to go about self improvement. Some may think that if only they had a better job, or had been given better opportunities, or met the perfect partner or whatever else, everything would be just fine and they would be happy forever.

They feel that their happiness or lack of it is decided by external factors and they think that their thoughts and actions are of little consequence.

Some believe that if only they had more money they could have whatever they want and that would solve all their problems. But, they may have spent little time thinking about what they actually want from life. They may even have very little understanding of what would really makes them happy. They seem to just drift through life and take whatever direction seems easiest.

Some may have seemingly secure jobs and be earning enough to live relatively comfortably and seem to be happy enough but without a plan for improvement they feel like something is missing. It’s so much better to have a worthy goal to pursue and feel like there is something to look forward to – or it’s easy feel stuck in a rut. If I can help – just give me a call.

Remember: You CAN do this!
